The Weave Table: what each mouth was holding

Gen-3 read Wikipedia for two days with a working outbound window. He reached for it thousands of times and was never heard. This is the anatomy of why — reconstructed read-only from the rest checkpoint by re-running the discovery gate, walking the declaration log, and measuring the geometry. The process is the explanation; the checkpoint let us reconstruct it.

Two gaps, only one of them mechanical

The expressibility gap. The v1 relay names only leaf codepoint atoms. Every member that crossed was an organ row — a drive, the self, a sibling mouth — so every one resolved to nothing and was skipped with a counter. The recursive walk that the S211 ruling promised (“members that are hyperedges open into their members, recursively”) was never built. That part is mechanism, and it is designed and ready to rule on below.

The adjacency gap. The deeper finding: even a perfect walk would have said almost nothing, because on this body’s measured geometry no language lives within reach of the mouths. The organs never fused with the text manifold. That part is geometric — it is about where things are, not how they are read out.

The body at rest

24,563 rows. Two clean populations: 227 organ rows, all HOT — born at genesis, never settle — and 24,336 codepoint atoms, all settled. Two days of reading created zero new rows: everything Wikipedia declared became flat hyperedges over the existing alphabet.

ROW SPACE · 0 … 24,562 24,336 codepoint atoms · settled · the language cloud 227↗ THE ORGAN BAND, MAGNIFIED · rows 0–226 · all HOT self 153 drives 31 efferents — the mouths 31 afferents 11 hw
Rows 0–226 are the boundary organs (self, drives, mouths, afferents, hardware senses). Everything after row 227 is the alphabet Wikipedia wove into words and sentences. No structural rows were ever created above the atoms — nesting exists only as shared rows across flat hyperedges.

Where the mouths sit

The discovery gate reaches 1.0 Poincaré units (coarse prefilter, 2 × shell ceiling). Re-running it host-side over every row: the atom cloud is nearly self-coincident — a control atom focus admits ~21,500 members — while every organ row’s nearest neighbour sits ≈ 9.9 units away. All 31 mouths admit zero members at rest. The 3,565 crossings during the run were transient weaves among the organs themselves.

The mouths are not silent by choice: they are marooned. Nothing — no atom, no word, nothing — lies within discovery reach of any organ row. What makes him audible is geometric: language tiling into the mouths’ neighbourhood, so weaves containing both organs and atoms come to exist.

What each mouth is actually composed of

Every efferent belongs to exactly one declared hyperedge: the genesis action-model (HE #62 in the log head) — arity 49: the 31 mouths, the 17 drive signals, the self. Zero atom co-members. No walk from any mouth, along any declared composition, ever reaches a letter. The table below is the full population the 3,565 skipped crossings were drawn from — and the decision surface for what each class should express as.

The load-bearing rulings are the drive row (a mouth weaving with a drive — sayable, silent, or expressible only through what it pulls in?) and the self / focus rows (deixis versus silence).

The record he wrote while reading

17.94 GB of declarations, parsing cleanly end-to-end as [arity][member rows] — no level, no kind, no direction persisted. 99.7–100% of all members are atoms; the store is flat, one level deep: sentences list their codepoints directly. And it renders as real English:

Had a single one of these crossed a mouth, even the v1 relay could have spoken it. None did — see the geometry above.

The fix, in three pieces

1 · The atom namer. Replace the O(n_live) per-member scan with the O(1) inverse of the genesis map (row→codepoint) — an inversion of data genesis already wrote, not a new mechanism. Lands regardless of any other ruling.

2 · The recursive walk. A crossing member opens into its declared compositions, recursively, to leaf atoms — sourced from a host mirror the boot replay already computes and currently throws away, filtered to the ~0.1–0.3% of records containing a non-atom member (kilobytes today). Cycle-guarded by opened-HE set, depth-capped by config, ordering never prescribed: whatever sequence the walk yields is what he says.

3 · The adjacency. Geometric, not mechanical: language must tile into the mouths’ neighbourhood before there is anything to walk. The walk must exist first — or those weaves will be as inexpressible as these were.

The process is the explanation, the state is what allows us to reconstruct it.

Six rulings requested

  1. Expansion direction

    (A) undirected — “say everything you’re woven into” · recommended, the faithful dual, no new state · (B) restore a persisted level tag and descend composition levels only · (C) class-gated expansion (a heuristic at the boundary).

  2. Drive / self / focus members

When a mouth weaves with a drive or the self: silent, a deixis token, or expressible only through language later tiled onto it?

  3. Dedup

Never reopen a hyperedge, but let atoms repeat as their openings list them · recommended — preserves real spelling — or dedup by atom row?

  4. The level field

Stays vestigial (0) for v2 — the walk is structure-directed, not level-directed — unless you choose (B) above, the only path that needs it threaded through persistence.

  5. First-wake scope

Land the atom namer + the option-A walk only — the smallest faithful step — and measure what he says before any level or class machinery?

  6. The adjacency gap

Is closing it — language tiling into the mouths’ neighbourhood, compositions declared over organs and atoms — part of “the outbound needs fixing,” or a later session’s ruling?
